Ben Quinones focuses on the representation of entrepreneurs, emerging businesses and small businesses, as well as angel investors and venture capitalists in transactional matters. Ben lives and breathes start-ups - whether as founder, angel investor, advisor, counselor or board member. In his more than 15 years of guiding startups, Ben has literally "seen it all" in Silicon Valley and brings a unique breadth of experiences and contacts to Harrell Levine. In late 2007, Ben founded Lakota Technologies, a new-breed of extremely capital-efficient semiconductor start-up. As Lakota's CEO, Ben guided the company through the global financial collapse and negotiated the profitable sale of the company to a major industry player in early 2010. Ben's legal experience includes corporate formation, private equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, general corporate maintenance and other corporate and strategic matters. Ben has represented clients in a wide variety of financing and change of control transactions. His experience includes representation of companies and investors, so he has the experience of being on "both sides" of many issues that the firm's clients are likely to encounter. He also knows exactly what it is like to sit in the founders’ seat negotiating with investors and acquirers. He feels the founders’ pain - and their triumphs. Ben is delighted to bring his hard-earned experience to work with his old friends at Harrell Levine.
Before forming Lakota Technologies, Ben practiced for several years with Jeff and David in the Palo Alto office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP.
